What Could Recurring Pain Below The Chest Indicate?

Hi, I have a pulling pain below my chest and just above my stomach. It seems to be all around the edges of the top of my stomach and can sometimes be quite painful. It first occurred about a month ago and led to vomiting several times.. But was fine after 2 days. It s now started again since yesterday though not as severe... Yet I ve already been to my GP who carried out a physical examination and suggested Paracetamol but the pain is back. Any help?

Hello,

Pain below the chest & above the stomach may be indicative of acid reflux, GERD, gastritis, esophageal or gastric ulcer / peptic ulcer.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get all required blood & imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected & your clinical condition.

You can take antacids & PPI's for relieve. Avoid fried food, oily spicy food. Take home made nourishing food. Maintain proper eating time & take adequate sleep. Stay well hydrated & avoid sedentary lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
