The cause of groin pain is commonly stress and strain, tendon or ligament strain, one may experience groin pain immediately after a trauma or injury but sometimes it may come on gradually over a period of weeks or even months. Medical conditions that may cause such symptoms are hernia (groin hernia, inguinal hernia, etc.), UTI, kidney stones, problems around the hip joints or scrotum or prostrate.
You can take NSAIDS, Combiflam or Naproxen, one SOS after food to ease pain. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP or a Urologist. Get blood tests, urinalysis and required Imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
