What Could Recurring Tiny Bumps On Lips Indicate?

well i have these tiny bumps on my lips. when i wake up in the morning my lips are swollen and they don't burn and i feel no pain. the first and second time i got these bumps they itched but now they don't. it seems like every time i get these bumps they are different . one time there was fluid, another time the bumps were only on the corners of my lips. i wear lots of lipsticks and i feel like it is a allergic reaction but im not sure. after every reaction my lips will get black and they will get dry and peel off the black skin. i went to the doctor and she prescribed me valtrex that did not work. so i guess my question it what should i do now or if you can look at my symptoms and give me a list of things it could be?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain recurring bumps on lips can be due to a number of reasons like Herpes infection [viral] , bacterial infection, allergic reaction to certain lip products, sun blisters caused by excessive sun exposure etc..

The most probable cause that I can rule out by knowing the symptoms is viral infection caused by HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS 1 infection causing cold sores..
Valtrex [valacyclovir] did not work as anti-viral ointments cannot cure the active infection and can only reduce viral count..

But for a confirmatory diagnosis consult a Dermatologist and get a viral as well as bacterial culture done to rule out the cause..
Other investigations and diagnoses can be done after clinical evaluation...

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
