Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have dipped for many years but quit for some time now. I have had these red dots on my tongue for atleast 5 months. The tip of my tongue use to burn but not anymore but the other bumps on my tongue is still there. What should I do? Ive showed these to an oral doctor and he does not think its much of anything. He said usually that cancer is not in most cases on the top of your tongue. Can you help?
Understanding your concern. As per your query red bumps/stops on tongue which could be due to inflammation of papillae leading to transient Lingual Papillitis. There are other reasons as well such as stress , hormonal changes or acidic and spicy food. Well it is not the only symptom for cancer. If you are really scared you should visit oral pathologist once and go for biopsy of lesions to rule out cancer. It generally doesn’t require treatment and clears up within two weeks. Do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day . If condition doesn't get better in few days then consult oral pathologist for proper checkup and rule out condition like herpes or canker sore .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
