What Could Severe Lower Abdominal Pain Post Intercourse Indicate?

Hi, I am 22 years old female and I am experienced strong abdominal pain in the lower area. It is intensive shooting pain similar to menstrual cramps. It started this morning after sexual intercourse. I am shortly after my ovulation. It intensifies when I go to toilet or I cough and therefore push. I also feel nauseous and I am cold sweating. I did not eat anything abnormal, but yesterday I ate a bit more than usual. Today it s been already 5 hours since the pain started and it s not getting much better, I have problems moving as it hurts very much. Please do you have idea what it could be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms indicate urinary tract infection. It is common after intercourse if You do not urinate right after it. You should have urine analysis done and antibiotic prescribed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Grzegorz Stanko, General Surgeon
