What Could Severe Pain In Arms And Shoulders Post Treatment For Ulcerative Colitis Indicate?

Why have I terrible pains in my arms shoulders and can hardly raise them above my head. I was treated for Ulcerative Colitis with 4 months on prednisolone and 3 months on puri nethol. I stopped taking Purinethol as I think they may be causing problem. I have UC for over 30 yrs, and have to have surgery in August.But this weariness in neck shoulder and arms is frightening. Think I m getting paralysed! Any ideas,is it medication?

Ulcerative colitis and this med post operation doesn't seem to cause these symptoms.

The pain in neck and shoulder and arms and not able to raise hands above neck may be due to arthritis, frozen shoulder or intervertebral disc problem too.

You have to get these physically checked by ortho. But then, if pain killers again given, not good for uc.

Get diagnosed physically and exclude above possibilities.

To my own patients, I would recommend to get Ayurveda treatment for chronic u.c. and pain in arms etc. where long term Medicine part is safe and side effectless. Economic too.
