What Could Severe Pain In Upper Leg Muscle With Cramps Indicate?
I have leg pain that I can not figure out what it is connected to. I understand a ciatic nerve can come from the back of the leg to the front. My pain is in my upper leg muscle. I fell several years ago and pulled a hamstring and I have chalked it up to that in getting old. I am horrible pain after sitting on the floor for a little while then I get the crusiating pain, I get up and walk and few steps and it goes away. When I try to walk around the block it gets a cramp in it. Just normal everyday walking I am fine.
Since sitting down on the floor is strenuous & painful, avoid doing it. Do regular walking & stretch exercises.
You are suggested to get clinically examined in ER, get MRI/CT done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.
You should get Nerve conduction tests done to detect any nerve issues. Your treatment will depend on the severity of the pathology detected & your clinical condition.
In the meantime you can take NSAIDS, Naproxen, one sos after food when needed. Take vitamin B6,B12 rich food or supplements.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
