General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Swelling, numbness and stiffness in the right hand and arms can be due to some bug bite that went unnoticed by you. Look for any bite marks on the skin and wash it thoroughly, remove any stings that may be present. Take non-sedating antihistamines, once daily for 3-5 days.

Numbness and tingling can also occur due to injuring a nerve (a neck injury may cause you to feel numbness anywhere along your arm or hand, while a low back).

Pinched nerve due to bad posture, peripheral neuropathy, slipped disc, MS may also manifest such symptoms. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP.

Get blood, nerve conduction and imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the clinical condition and reports of the investigations obtained.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
