What Could Submandibular Lymphadenopathy, With Nodes In USG Report Suggest?
my 6 year old daughter having a 1.8 cm rubbery movable left posterior triangle neck node for last 2 years. She is very active and no symptoms. She is congenital hypothyroid. 3 weeks before got fever and pharyngitis, now I can see submandibular lymphadenopathy ( 2cm size) on both sides. USG done showing all these nodes and additionally some small nodes on left jugular region also. The USG report shows another one more node in the left posterior triangle near by the node I refer before. Any need of concern?
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Yes you need to concern about it - as lymph nodal enlargement is seen after any infection / inflammatory / lymph nodal pathology itself the cause. 2.The recent infection can be the cause for the enlarged lymph nodes ( which are newly detected) 3.Through investigation is needed to find out the cause. 4.I would recommend an FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology / BIOPSY to confirm the cause and to rule out lymph nodal pathology itself. 5.Would suggest abdomen pelvis, inguinal region for presence of any enlarged lymph nodes. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
