What Could Sudden Extreme Pain In Spine Indicate?

Hi my period is due in a few days. And I have woken up this morning with severe pain, that has left me unable to walk. The pain has been so painful that I have cried, and it feels like something is pressing against my spine, Any ideas about what this could be please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
Sudden severe pain could be because of muscle spasm or problem with the disc. I advise you to take muscle relaxants orally and apply diclofenac ointment locally. If the symptoms doesn't subside then consult orthopaedic surgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Thank you
