General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The swelling and numbness could be caused due to the less supply of oxygen to the nerve supplying those areas; for example like when we sleep on our hand for long time you can feel the same and even if we sit for a long time. I suggest you to do some exercise on the part, apply hot water bag (or use hot compress) 2-3 times a day and take some multi-vitamins which includes Cyanocobalamine once a day for a week.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajatha S. S., General & Family Physician
