What Could Swollen Neck Lymph Nodes With Cough Suggest?

Hi. I am a 24 yr old woman and recently my health has really been spiraling downhill and causing many concerns. I do plan on visiting my primary care physician to get some tests done, I simply am looking for a second opinion. The lymph nodes all around my neck have been swollen for months now and I have a persistent cough that does not go away and sometimes it is bloody. I have been experiencing terrible neck pain. I get little or no sleep at night and my appetite has significantly decreased. I find it hard to swallow food sometimes and difficult to breathe even. I am really scared and i do appreciate any feedback as to what this could possibly be. Thank you

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Multiple lymph nodes in the neck accompanied by cough suggests infection of the upper respiratiry tract.
Sore throat is the most probable cause of these symptoms.
Lymph node enlargement can also occur due to infection.
I suggest you to consult your primary heakthcare provider for clinical assessment and prescription of medicine for sore throat.
In the meanwhile saline gargles will relive the pain in the throat.
With treatment of sore throat, the enlarged lymph nodes will also settle down.
If however, the lymph nodes do not settle doen, you can get a fine needle aspiration of the lymph nodes to know exact nature of the cells in the lymph nodes.

Thanks and take care

if u r having cough since last more than 15 days and evening rise fever and with swollen lymph nodes as u mentioned that u must go through for CHEST X RAY and sputum microbiology to rule out TB.
And consult ur physician for further treatment.....
