What Could Testicular Swelling (partial) With Discomfort In A Toddler Indicate?
My 2 year old son was walking funny. I noticed one side of his testicle is very red. It does not seem swollen and it is not radiating heat. WHen I touched it, he didn't seem to be in severe pain, but did seem uncomfortable. I gave him a warm bath and applied vaseline to the area before bed. Any suggestions?
Hi. Thanks for your query. The commonest reasons to be considered for redness and walking funny in a child of 2 years are: - Commonest are the insect/ants bites causing redness and swelling of the scrotum. - Dermatitis. - Direct or indirect trauma. - Some sort of allergic reaction.
I would advise in such a situation the following: cold compresses. antihistamine and steroids orally. Nothing to be applied locally to the scrotum.
