What Could The Dry, Itcgy Patches Of Skin Above Vagina And Inner Thighs Be Considering Having Herpes?

I have dry itching patches of skin above my vagina and inner thighs. I do have herpes but this seems different. I can't help but scratch at it. It burns. I got a look at it and it just looks like dry skin discolored brownish. Should i apply lotion or would that make it worse? I've never had a yeast infection so not sure if it could be that...

Hi

You seem to have developed a fungal skin infection which is tinea.
You need to be managed with both topical and oral antifungals.
As far as topical antifungals are concerned, treatment with clotrimazole cream twice a day helps in most cases.
Also you should avoid the application of any creams or oils to the affected area.
Keep it clean and dry.
Wear cotton clothes so as to minimize sweating.

Hope it helps
