What Could The Itchy Rashes Developed On An Injury Which Was Washed With Saline Water And Dressed With Lyofoam Mean?
my daughter scraped the complete top of her knee last week. I have been cleansing it with normal saline, and dressing it with solusite, lyofoam, and a clear plastic dressing. The last two days I have covered it with the solusite, lyofoam, and fixamol (as this breathes). She has developed red, itchy pimply type rash which is extending down from the knee. This is getting worse and the spots getting bigger. Just wondering if it may be fungal, or what it could be? thanks for your help
I can understand your concern for the itchy rashes developed on an injury. I can make a possibility cellulitis because of secondary infection which might be spreading.
It is deep infection of the area of the skin due to bacterial invasion. I suggest you to meet doctor immediately to rule out the same. A course of antibiotic would be required to treat the infection at the earliest.
If your daughter is not immunized for tetanus then get her immunized immediately at the earliest possible.
The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
All the best.
