What Could Throbbing Pain And Painful Lump On Left Temple Indicate?

Two days ago a lump appeared on my left temple, approx. an inch in diameter. It is not red but rather flesh colored like the rest of my face. It is painful itself as well as is causing me a terrific headache. It does throb on occasion and I am worried that it could be something serious. Any suggestions what it might be? Please advise. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
A one inch size swelling on the left temple area, assosciated with headache. To be fair the description of the swelling given, cannot help in the guiding you.Indeed, at the face of it can assure u that it is not very serious. Why because it is painful, and a throbbing sensation.Would request you to however keep a follow up on the size of the swelling. This area can cause pain from the jaw joint, teeth, and migraine. Some of the symptoms of a benign process are excessive sweating, fever, vision problems, fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite or anorexia, jaw discomfort or pain, muscle aches and throbbing headaches that occur on just one side of a person’s head. This point to Temporal arteritis, which would require a specialised care.
