General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Triphasil is a combined contraceptive pill containing ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel. Any of the such birth control, you may need to use back up birth control, such as condoms or a spermicide, when you first start using the pill, as it takes about 5 days to start its action. Since you had intercourse on the same day, it carries a risk of pregnancy.
The vomiting and discharge what you are complaining of could be due to side effect of the drug itself. As there is a delay in period, kindly get your urine tested for pregnancy and also blood checked for beta-HCG levels, to make sure pregnancy has not occurred.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
All the best.
