What Cuases Fatigue And Appetite Lowss While On Blood Pressure Medication?

My husband is 54 years old, in good physical shape, works out everyday, eats healthy, but has high blood pressure. The doctor recently switched medicine, and after 2 weeks on new medicine, his blood pressure is 180/100. Some mornings it has been 165/98. He is very tired all the time, and he sweats a lot. He hasn t been very hungry. Is it time to try a different medicine?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems that blood pressure medication hasn't worked because his levels are high, even 165/99 mmHg is too high.

I think he should have all tests done, blood count, lipid panel, control of renal function, and also cardiac function etc.

After all that his doctor may consider continuing the medication with some other drugs adding or switch medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
