General & Family Physician 's  Response
I totally understand your concerns about your husbands health.
The following points should be taken into consideration:

1- All stents when they are put in place, they remain for life. There are two main types of stents : Drug eluting stent and bare metal stent. The drug eluting stent is the better one with one major advantage that the risk of reocclusion is half compared to bare metal stent. So you must check on the type used in order to assess more the risks and give you the correct prognosis.

2- regarding diet : Low salt, low fat diet is preffered. If your husband has been tested for diabetes and showed glucose intolerance or diabetes then he must also be aware of glucose intake.

3- routine check ups with your cardiologist is warranted in order to detect any changes and optimize treatment, strict use of medications, strict diet all together make the prognosis better.

Best regards
