What Diet Should Be Followed To Keep Diabetes Under Control?

My father is 67 yrs old,diabetic but under perfect control, mildly hypertensive, underwent CABG last year. His current urea is 42, creatinine 1.43, crcl is 44 and uric acid 5.2. He consumes brown bread,what fruits can be given to him? is it ok and is there anything to be worried about? Nephrologist have been consulted

Hi!!

welcome to HCM

His creatinine levels are fine but definately should not go up and for that his sugars have to be well controlled.
Regarding fruits he can have apple, papaya, watermelon,pear,pomergranate, but only between his meals.
Also he should eat at the same time daily and not skip his meals.

For a complete diet plan I would need his weight,blood sugar levels and eating habits.
