What Diet To Follow To Get More Iron?

Hi. I am 13 years old. I sometimes feel tired, dizzy, lightheaded, I have precordial catch syndrome, I usually don't eat meat, and I am very pale. I have been diagnosed with anemia because I do not get enough iron. Just wondering what I should eat to get more iron. I don't want iron pills because they supposedly mess up digestive systems for children. Thanks so much in advanced for the help.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
If you are not comfortable with iron pills, you can have these foods rich in iron content:
1.Red meat,Egg yolks
2.Dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and collards
3.Dried fruit like prunes, raisins
4.Iron-enriched cereals and grains
5.Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans.
But these foods take long time for your anaemia to get better
If your symptoms get worser and if you want immediate relief from the symptoms,i would suggest you to take iron injections or infusions.
Hope you are satisfied with the answer.
Thank you
