What Do AMH Value Of 0.2 And FSH Value Of 15.4 Indicate?
I have recently had some labs done regarding fertility. I am 33 years old, have one child already. I have regular cycles and appear to ovulate. My amh came back 0.2 and my FSH is 15.4. How aggressive should I be getting? I am trying a clomid cycle next month but unsure whether it s just a waste of my time.
AMH also known as Anti Mullerian Hormone is a measure of your ovarian reserve, the normal levels being 1.5-4 ng/ml. Yours, being 0.2 is low. FSH, also known as follicle stimulating hormone is released by a part of the brain is an indicator for fertility too. In women with regular cycles, the normal levels are 4.7 - 21.5 mIU/ml, your FSH is in the normal range. Clomid i.e., Clomiphene Citrate is typically prescribed beginning on day 3 of your period and is continued for 5 days. The main side effects of clomed are blurred vision, headaches, irregular periods and abdominal discomfort. It maybe unsafe to use clomifene citrate for more than a year as it may increase the risk of ovarian cancer. Thus it is safe to use clomed and give pregnancy a try, but avoid using clomed for long periods of time.
