Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Abdominal Pain, Nausea And Low Appetite In A Teenager Suggest?
My 16 year old daughter has been complaining of abdo pain and feeling nauseaous for 3 days. She has not vomited. She has opened her bowels which were regular. The nauseous feeling is worse after she tries to eat a small amount of food. She hasn t started her period yet. Over the last month she has had a red rash around her neck (eczema). No other health problems to report.
Since your daughter is feeling nauseous with abdominal pain, it may be due to indigestion or acid reflux she has developed. You can give antacids and if required Rantac-150mg for relief. She can take spasmol (spasmoproxyvon), one SOS to ease abdominal pain.
Give her oats and some warm beverage. Let her stay at rest. Since she has not yet started her periods it can be due to menstrual cramps. Help her stay hydrated, give her juice or soups. You can give her digestives & liver tonic to boost her appetite.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
