What Do Abdominal Spasms And Diarrhea Indicate?

I am concerned about my daughter, she has had test ran, but she still has this colon pain, she states it feels like a spasm, diarrhea and pain across her abdomen. She has had female issues before and has been scoped for that. I just have this feeling something isn t right.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the spasms and abdominal pains and diarrhea are there for less than 7 days than very likely this is a viral infection called gastroenteritis and will go away soon. She just needs to keep herself well hydrated with oral re-hydration solutions and rest. If she gets blood with the stools or the symptoms are lasting for more than a week than she needs tests to be done to determine the cause of the symptoms: stool culture, stools for ova and parasites, stool microscopy, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
