What Do Abnormal Folate, Ferritan, RDW And RBC Levels In A Blood Test Report Suggest?
Ferritan 1340.0, Folate and B12 and iron normal, Hgb 9.0, Hct 26.6 and a low RBC of 3.22, RDW 17, Basofils 4.0 and Myelocytes 1.0. The rest of the labs ar normal. What do you think for diagnosis? Pt has no signs and symptoms. These labs also were drawn twice.
I need to know your total WBC count and differential WBC count as your basophils are high. Provide that report for giving more comment. High serum ferritin could be from hemochromatosis.
High serum ferritin also can be seen in hemolytic anemia for which peripheral smear examination and serum LDH done for primary work up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
