Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband has had a rash with unknown origin over most of his body. His looks like an allergic reaction rash. All blook and allergy test have proven negative. I have had a rash that looks like a bit with one or two bumps, but with Hydrocortizone ointment it goes away and then I get another one in a different area. Very itchy as his is, but I do not believe this to be scabies or bed bugs. ANy suggestions? Can a diagnosis be done by a sign biopsey?
Hi Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health problems.
Allergy test includes more commonly affecting allergens as provocative agents. Many times person have some food, flower pollen, seeds, environmental change, metals or chemical substance allergies that can not be covered in skin tests.
First of all treat existing lesions with hydrocortisone ointment and Tablet levocetrizine 5 mg 24/12 hourly according to itching intensity.
After that try to be alert in above mentioned provocative allergens. Find out yourself which substance or chemical or food is causing and exaggerating allergic rashes. Rashes usually appears within 24-48 hours of consumption or contact of allergic substances.
This is the best way to identify allergen.
