General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Altered sensation such as the pain or pins/needles is referred to as neuropathy.

Neuropathy has different possible causes including physical changes to the nerves. Changes in any structure of the nerves can be seen on MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
