Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Black Horizontal Stripes On The Back After Mosquito Bite Indicate?
Hi hi last week I was eaten up on my left lower back with mosquito bites. I had bruising at each bite. I used cortisone for the itching. But now my back is black and deep purple and it is huge. There are also horizontal black stripes through the bruises. Why.
I think you might have been bitten by any other insect that has caused such bruising. Please send a photo of the affected area to me to evaluate the changes myself.
Meanwhile, keep it well clean. Apply alternately warm and cold compresses to disperse the clogged blood.
You might need prescription meds, so should proceed further with a dermatologist as soon as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
