Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My girlfriend has black spots on her tongue and she said it was from birth, and i am worried kissing her so as not to contract any form of oral disease, is it safe for me to kiss her and what is responsible for the black spots and also, is it curable?
As per your query your girl friend have symptoms of black spots on tongue since birth which is a matter you should not worry about. It is because of hyperpigmentation which is a genetic trait that keeps resurfacing and secondly its because of hairy tongue which result from poor oral hygiene, fungal infection, dry mouth or excessive use of tobacco. Need not to panic about it, I would suggest you to try applying potato juice of puree, aloe vera, lemon juice and cucumber juice to black spots. Sucking on small pieces of pineapple twice a day for one week will lighten spots. If you want permanent removal of these then you should visit dermatologist once and get it examined properly. Go for laser treatment. Cryotherapy is also considered treatment option.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
