What Do Bleeding And Cramps After An Vaginal Ultrasound Indicate?

I had my first smear test done 12 days ago. I m 24 and had it done slightly early as Iv been having problems with my periods since the birth of my youngest child 19 months ago. I had an internal ultrasound done a month ago which showed either filling defects in the womb lining cavity, or a thickening of the womb lining. I finished my period a couple of days before my smear, but when the nurse performed the smear she said there was a lot of bleeding so it might need to be redone. Since then j have had heavy bleeding with the odd clot and loads of cramping.

Hello,

The bleeding may be due to irregular periods or menorrhagia. I suggest you to get an endometrial biopsy to assess the status of endometriallining.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
