Two days ago I came out with multiple huge blister type burns above my right ankle and now they are scabbed but looks like its getting bigger and red and my foot is bit swollen, I have three small kids and no doctor open til Tuesday now so I don t want to have to drag them to hospital. I m a single parent.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blisters above ankle which seems to be an allergic reaction and could be due to frictional heat generation.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to rashes to reduce redness and inflammation. You should take over the counter antihistamine like Benadryl. You should avoid touching or pricking blisters. If the condition doesn't get well then consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
