What Do Blisters On The Left Leg Indicate?

I have an area on my left leg that almost seems like the flesh has been eaten away. The skin is reddish, dry, and has a scaly appearance and maybe blistery. Years ago, I was told I had diabetes and I have nephritis in my toes at times. The right leg is taking on the same type of appearance that the left had years ago and is reddish. My last 2 blood tests with different doctors and labs said that I have no sign of ever having diabetes and that my thyroid works well, which had been diagnosed as not being active enough years ago. Last year, I had to have 7 units of blood or plasma since my blood count was something like 3 1/2 as I remember and it needed to be at least 13 for me to be discharged from the hospital. In 91, I had 4 units of plasma and the count was taken differently with the number being about 24 1/2 if I remember right. It got that low again and they just told me to take iron. I d been taking iron this last year when the white blood cell count got so high in proportion to the red count. I m 69 2/3, weigh 350, 5 6 (used to be 5 7 1/2 ).
