Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have what appears to be a bunch of tiny blisters( in a patch about 2 inches in diameter) on my upper side of my back. Then underneath it, I have 4 or 5 smaller patches that are red and appear to be more like flat mosquito bites, but are all red around each of them, unlike mosquito bites. They are different sizes. They appear to go in a line almost down to my hip . All together there are probably about 10 other ones in clumps, aside from the larger group. I accidentally scratched the large patch on top and it seems to be tiny blisters with water coming out. I was at a water slide park the day before I woke up with this. This area was exposed when i went down one slide.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The most common reason for blisters are chicken pox or shingles. If you have a previous history of chicken pox then shingles would be considered.
Both of these would usually be associated with some discomfort and, in the case of chicken pox, itching. Some persons have minimal itching or pain.
You can see your doctor to determine if either of these are present.
Treatment is mainly symptomatic- controlling any symptoms present, e.g. the pain or itching. Medication can also be taken to suppress the virus itself, e.g. Acyclovir or Valacyclovir.
I hope this helps.
