Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your query it may be possibly "Canker sores" and they cause pain and discomfort while eating and drinking..
They may last for a few days and can disappear by themselves, but as they can cause pain and discomfort you can take a few basic treatment and preventive measures to relieve the discomfort..

In case of pain you can apply anaesthetic gels containing choline salicylate or lignocaine to ease pain during eating as they make the area including sores numb.

Use betadine or chlorohexidine mouthwash can be helpful as they have antimicrobial action..

In case of excessive pain and inflammation steroid like hydrocortisone is prescribed..

Avoid spicy and hot food.

Take soft and cold food..

Maintain a good oral hygiene..

You may need to see a doctor if the ulcers keep on becoming more painful or does not heal in 12 to 14 days time..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
