Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have bumps on one outer lip of my vagina and some closer to the anus. These bumps appear to look like clogged pores, and are indented when they swell around a hair follicle. They have spread from one to about six now. They are not textured like a blister, but more like a bump that came from under the skin and swelled. I have been sexually active orally. One thing I think may have caused these is the fact that I had been rubbed in that area through my pants while wearing a pad, which I thought may have caused friction on the fresh shave and made these bumps appear. Or it could have trapped oils and made them appear according to my searches. I m just worried these are herpes transferred orally by my partner to my vagina. He hasn t been tested for herpes, and shows no signs of having it. He does have warts on some of his fingers though. Please help me identify these bumps.
The following are few probable causes of bumps on your vaginal lips: 1) Rash after hair removal as you mentioned due to frictional rubbing 2) Bartholin's cyst 3) Ingrown hairs 4) Boils 5) Vaginal pimples 6) Genital cysts 8) Labial warts due to human papilloma virus 9) Contact dermatitis due to some irritants 10) Herpes lesions 11) Molluscum contagiosum 12) Syphilis lesions
You need to consult a gynecologist or a dermatologist to identify the accurate cause and make a clinical examination and start appropriate treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
