Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Burning Sensation And Numbness In The Body Indicate?
burning sensations often at night when sitting throghout body/various times...numbness only when sitting/sleeping at times legs/feet/arm/hands. Sometimes a numbness feeling with in ear/side of face...doesn t last long. ..burning though is all over butt, back of head, back, nose...going on 9 months now...but will have a really good month and then a not so good couple weeks or so....no set pattern really other than maybe weather changes
A burning sensation throughout the body is generally caused because of nerve problems. It may be caused due to many reasons. Diabetes causes peripheral neuropathy.
Also, many autoimmune diseases can cause autonomic neuropathy. I would advise you to get yourself checked by a neurologist as soon as possible. He/she may conduct a physical examination and also advise some blood tests and nerve conduction tests to diagnose your condition.
Meanwhile, you can take Pregablin M to relieve the burning sensation. Proper treatment can only be initiated after the diagnosis is confirmed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
