Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Burning Sensation And Stiffness In The Fingers Indicate?
Tonight I was waken by the feeling my right middle three fingers were feeling like they were burning and stiff. I am a amputee of my right leg above the knee and have fallen numerous times hurting the fingers of my right hand. The feeling was kinda like the the fingers and arm was sleeping except the fingers actually huirt with the burning feeling. Right now the fingers seem better. However, the arm feels week.
Can you tell me why your right leg was amputated? Are you suffering from diabetes mellitus for long time? Or do you have peripheral vascular disease?
Because, mostly, these two diseases are responsible for gangrene and ultimately amputation.
If you have any of the above condition, your finger burning and stiffness are due to it. If not, then get an x-ray cervical spine done and consult an orthopedic to rule out nerve compression at that level.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
