General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

The hard belly above and to the right of your belly button, could be due to distended bowels.

Now, when constipated, the stool will remain inside your bowels for longer time than usual. This will cause the bowels to get distended which is clinically shown with hard belly.

However, a good physical examination is needed together with abdominal ultrasound to rule out another hernia relapse.

Hope this helps.
