What Do Cramps And Spotting After Taking Cytotec Pills Indicate?

Hi doctor. I Take cytotec and mifepristone last week. I follow the steps given to me. I only had spotting, cramps and then it stops. does it mean it i Failed abortion? what should i do? Does it has any effect on the fetus already? is it possible to continue pregnancy even if you already take the medicines? thank you.

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Generally bleeding will occur after cytotec and mifepristone and it will last for 4-5 days.
But you have no bleeding and just spotting suggests incomplete abortion.
You can not continue the pregnancy as misoprostol cause fetal malforamtion and defect in fetus
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination and USG scan.
Pregnancy should be terminate by the extra dose of the misoprostol under the supervision of the gynecologist or by surgical process like D & C.
So consult the gynecologist as early as possible for proper treatment.
