Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am not a doctor but according to a muscular chart I was looking at, it would seem that I am experiencing cramping around the area of the serratus anterior muscle. My check does not hurt, but some times I get what feels like a cramp in my back around my right shoulder blade. I pretty sure that it is due to having a desk job and not getting enough exercise and not doing enough stretching. At least that is what I it may be. However, what I am concerned about in particular is a comment my husband made about taking a blood pressure related prescription he is taking because he was cramping in the same area. He takes at least 2 BP meds but can you tell me if cramping in anyway can be related to BP issues or vessels that are too small in this area?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Desk job can be a cause of shoulder pain, hope you do not have cervical spondylitis. If you have desk job then you should do neck & shoulder exercises. However, there can be other causes for this type of discomfort. If you feel pain in the left arm & shoulder it can be an indication of a developing cardiac problem, get Lipid function tests done. Visit an ER, get examined to rule out Pancoast tumors for they present with such symptoms. I don't say that you have it. I am only talking about the screening tests which should be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
