What Do Dark Colored Stool Post Appendectomy Indicate?
I had a laproscoptic appendectomy once on saturday, and before on the sunday preceding that. They had left a nice peice of my appendix that was higly inflamed after the first surgery, so had to go back to it the second time, through the same 3 incisions. Well its been a good 4 days or so since the surgery and im still in alot of pain. Coming from each incision and also where my appendix was at. Also occasionally in my pelvic area when I have to urinate. My highest concern is im eating fairly well, but since the surgeries my stools have been very very dark and look like coffee browns. Does this sound normal?
If the surgical intervention implicated a lot of inflamed appendix or bowel, and if there is bleeding, then this explains the dark stool you are experiencing.
Keep regular follow-ups with your gastroenterologist.
