What Do Delayed Periods After Taking Nordette Pill Indicate?
Last month I took emergency nordette birth control (8 pills) and I got my period a bit early. And this month I m delayed for 9 days. No symptoms of pregnancy and I got a negative Pregnancy test. I have white discharge though. I took up vitamin C and my discharge became watery. Please help. I want my period already and I dont wanna be pregnant :(
Nordette (ethinyl estradiol + levonorgestrel) is a combinational contraceptive pill that is sometimes used in emergency contraception also. These hormones actually mess up with your period cycle. But don't be stressed out. Now that the pregnancy test is negative, you can wait for some more days for onset of periods. The above combinational pill should ideally be taken for normal contraception at lower doses and taking it for emergency contraception is not recommended now. Levonorgestrel only containing tablets are preferred over combinational pills. But taking emergency pill frequently will cause imbalance in menstrual cycles and therefore should be avoided and reserved for only in exceptional cases. And again, don't try vitamin C; it's not approved nor recommended for this indication.
