What Do Elevated HCG Levels Post Abortion Indicate?

I had an abortion 2 days ago should my levels be dropping? Mine doubled and the Dr called me not from the abortion clinic and told me to go to the hospital because when they first did an ultrasound at 6 and a half weeks they saw nothing. But 2 Days post abortion should the levels of gone down a little bit?

hi dear,
i understood your concern,
hcg level is produced from tissue of fetus.
normally it level shoul go down after abortion.
rise in level indicates.
failure of abortion.
retention of placental tissue.
ecess proliferation of placenta ie trophoblastic disease.

so please get usg done .
if uterus is empty with out any abnormality.
repeat hcg if still high .it need to be evaluated for cancer ovaries.
most of time it can be falsely elvated.
no need to worry about it.
so get it done.
