What Do Elevated Heart Rate And Chest Pain Indicate?

I am a 51 yr old woman, every time I stand up my heart rate goes up to 150. I am having chest pains, feel like I could pass out & heart palpitations. Should I worry abt a heart attack? What can be done for this? I have no history of heart disease or problems?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

This heart rate is too high. The normal heart rate is 60 to 100.

Combined with chest pain and lightheaded sensation, this needs assessment.

There are different possible causes but to determine the source for you, you would need physical examination and investigations such as ECG, complete blood count, ESR, thyroid function tests.

Additional cardiac investigations may be needed if the ECG is abnormal.

I hope this helps
