I recently returned from an overseas trip to the Philippines and have been ill for about 12 days. It started out like the flu with a runny nose and coughing, plus mild chest issues (coughing up phlegm). Then a few days later came aches and pains all over my body in the joints and muscle areas. The pain moves round and can affect different parts of the body at different times and includes some headaches across and behind the eyes. I had some mild bleeding from th gums, mouth ulcers(which i haven t had for years) and then yesterday diarrhoea with blood in the stools I went to see a doctor who has conducted some blood tests for mosquito borne viruses (no results yet) , but he seemed fairly casual about the whole thing.
