Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have 2 small lumps under my armpit and I don't know what this means. I don't want to confront my mother about it because I don't like to see her upset or worried. They're painless and about the size of a marble. They have been there for a few months. But I just recently noticed 3 weeks ago that they had gotten bigger.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain painless lump in the armpits can be swollen axillary lymph nodes or axillary lymphadenitis, sebaceous cyst or hair follicle infection..
I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and if needed a biopsy can help in confirmation of cause..
In case if it is swollen lymph nodes caused secondary to infection you can be advised to take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and do warm compresses over the lymph nodes.. In case if it is due to other causes treatment will be advised as per the confirmation of the cause..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
