What Do Headaches And Nausea While On Birth Control Pills Suggest?

I had sex with my boyfriend over a week ago. I am on birth control. A couple days ago I started getting sharp pains, headaches , heartburn, nausea and I ve been so tired lately. Barely any appetite. I took a test and it came out negative. I went to the bathroom today and brownish stuff was in my underwear and in me. It did not look like period blood. Could I be pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is a very small chance of pregnancy while on birth control pills. Based on the fact that your symptoms are very likely related to pregnancy, I suggest to do a pregnancy test or a beta HCG blood test.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
