Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an indent on both my thighs (about 3/4) I did a bit of research and it states that if you lean against something. However, everything I have leant against (less than 5 minutes) has not matched the indentation. I m slightly overweight but when I was average I still had the indentation. What could it be? Could I be a thigh dimple? Are there such things? Please reply :)
Noted your history about being overweight and have indentations over thighs. The overweight means more fat which is deposited in the thigh area as the commonest site along with buttocks and abdomen. The skin is attached by some ligaments to the deeper structures which do not allow the fat to get accumulated hence one seens the indentations. So nothing to worry about. Get an Ultrasonography of the affected area to rule out any internal problems and stop worrying unless something is found. Obviously the treatment is to reduce fat and weight by proper exercises and diet changes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
