Hi, For the past couple days, at night and when I wake up, the top of my left foot in between my toes and on the side of my foot, there was very small, pimple-like bumps. They are extremely itchy. Tonight I noticed that the bumps are almost scabbed over, but the bumps are forming a rash that seems to be spreading quickly. Thank you.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Itchy bumps between toes can indicate a fungal infection, such as athlete's foot. Athlete's foot is a common skin infection caused by a fungus that thrives in warm, moist environments like the areas between toes. Symptoms can include itchy, red bumps or blisters, dry or scaly skin, and a burning or stinging sensation.
The infection can spread quickly and can be contagious, so it is important to see a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Treatment may include antifungal medication, topical creams or ointments, or other measures to keep the affected area clean and dry.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
