Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Itchy Rashes On The Body While Suffering From Fibromyalgia Indicate?
I have fibromyalgia. Recently I broke out with a rash like random mosquito bites. They itch bad. Went to my doctor yesterday and he perscribed a topical cream. Helps for a little while. Is there a natural way to rid the ichhing? This happened before and the doctor perscribed the same thing.
I had gone through your medical history and understood your true concerns. Fibromyalgia is a overall musculoskeletal pain. This generally occurs after trauma or surgery or infection.
Some patients of fibromyalgia may develop itching which is a very common thing and rash may also develop. But we have to think about rash which can occur in other conditions like lupus.
We have to exclude lupus to keep us on safe side. Go for following investigations: 1. antinuclear antibody 2. complete blood picture 3. serum creatinine 4. urine analysis
If not lupus, no need to worry. If lupus is there you have to start corticosteroids and methotrexate. Hope you follow the above things and get well soon.
